Jannata (Egi) Giwangkara

As Indonesia Country Lead, Egi oversees the organisation’s strategy, partnerships, and program delivery to accelerate emissions reduction and sustainable development across key systems. He leads a multidisciplinary team, advancing climate actions through policy, finance, and industry collaborations, ensuring Climateworks’ impact is deeply aligned with Indonesia’s national priorities and regional decarbonisation pathways.
Prior to joining Climateworks, Egi served as Energy Transformation Program Manager at the Institute for Essential Services Reform, a leading Indonesian energy think tank. He has also contributed to climate and energy projects with multinational development agencies, including UNDP, USAID, and GIZ.
Egi holds a Master’s degree in Energy, Sustainability, and Environment from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Climatology from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).
